CHroniCles is an interactive, multimedia website dedicated to the living history of the community health center movement. A special joint project of the RCHN Community Health Foundation, the Geiger Gibson Program in Community Health Policy at Milken Institute School of Public Health at The George Washington University, and the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) and in collaboration with the health center community, CHroniCles aims to honor this rich history by having health center organizations contribute to a dynamic, on-line, web-based tapestry.

CHroniCles documents the vibrant, varied, and important history of every community health center in the country, as well as the health center movement as a whole. The website allows viewers everywhere to pay a virtual visit to every community health center in the U.S., and see the positive impact CHCs have had, and continue to have, as the largest primary health care system for low income and medically underserved persons, and a key source of highly quality, accessible and high quality care for all, in diverse urban and rural communities across the country.

Every health center story is unique. By providing health centers and primary care associations a portal to tell their own stories, CHroniCles celebrates – through written and oral histories, historic documents, photographs and other media – the special history of the health center movement and the vital role community health centers fulfill in American health care.

The relaunched CHroniCles site features a striking new visual design and a curated “stories” section, as well as other engaging and sharable content including long-form essays, photo albums, videos, and infographics. It now houses hundreds of contributed narratives, historical documents, photographs and videos, as well as interactive maps and other materials developed and recorded especially for this project.

Our two videos below tell you more about the site.

First is a quick tour of CHroniCles to learn about new features and how CHC and PCA users can share their stories on the site.

The second video provides more detail on adding and updating your profile.
